CANADA – CELEBRATE OUR HERITAGE
Canadians have a heritage rich in the history of our ancestors and their lifetimes. We enjoy learning about who they were, their names and their faces. We are curious to know what it was like during their lifetime, about the work they did and places they lived.
As we discover the people of our past, we celebrate their gifts to community, family and friends.
Travel way back along the branches of your family tree. Set your own roots deep. Share in the great adventure of getting to know these People of Our Past.
For over two hundred years we have been growing our sense of what it means to be Canadian. We build it strong and deep using the lives and times of those who came before us as our foundation. Today when we celebrate the events in our own lives, we are in a sense, celebrating the efforts, hard work and life times of family connections from long ago.
For some, their days as Canadians is still young and reaches backward in time but one or two ancestors. Their family history quickly links back to other countries. For others, being Canadian is generations old. Their family history settles into decades and centuries of life in our cities, small towns and rural homesteads.
Discovering our ancestors is an amazing journey – what were their names, where did they live, how did they get to school, who did they marry and who were their children? So many jigsaw pieces to put together. From one generation to the next as we go back in time, there are always new discoveries to make, new family to link to ourselves in this day and moment.
We are Canadian today through the contributions we give and the life we lead now. We are also Canadian today through all the trials and challenges faces by those who came before us. Unique in our individualism, united in our heritage of experiences.
We invite you to enjoy the many, many stories of our families here on the KARA website.
